Nuvoton launches NuMicro® Family —32-bit Microcontroller based on ARM® Cortex™-M0

Hsinchu, Taiwan (Jan/10/2010). Nuvoton Technology Corporation announces the launch of a brand new product line-NuMicro® Family, the 32-bit Microcontroller based on ARM® CortexTM-M0. NuMicro® family adopts the newest processor of ARM® CortexTM-M0, featured with smallest size, lowest power consumption, optimized instruction set. As a powerful microcontroller, NuMicro® Family is equipped with various built-in analog, mixed-signal components, and all kinds of high-speed communication interfaces, which enables users to upgrade their existing products from 8051 to NuMicro® Family easily. With the integration of features of wide range voltage input and EMI from 8-bit microcontroller, NuMicro® Family is particularly suitable for the industry controlling system.

Value-added NuMicro® Family

NuMicro® Family is the newest solution provided by Nuvoton to satisfy the worldwide 8-bit microcontroller customers’ demand with lower cost, yet higher performance 32-bit microcontroller. The operating speed can be up to 50 MHz, equal to 45 DMIPS (45 millions of instructions executed per second). The kernel of NuMicro® Family is also characterized by the built-in 32-bit multiplier, NVIC(Nested Vectored Interrupt Controller), and dual channel of APB, PDMA(peripheral DMA). For the memory system, this family has built in 32K to 128K Bytes Flash memory with 16K Bytes SRAM. In terms of the peripheral, NuMicro® family is equipped with high speed interface like UART, SPI, I2C, USB 2.0 FS, CAN, LIN, IrDA. Regarding analog components, it also provides 8 channel 12-bit ADC, 2 sets of analog comparators, low voltage detector and etc.. Four sets of 32-bits timer, RTC, watchdog timer, built-in oscillator also enrich the capability of NuMicro® Family. With all the aforesaid features, the whole system performance can be optimized for the NuMicro® Family.
